“do you know “indra’s net”? it’s a hindu (buddhist according to wikipedia, but whatever) metaphor illustrating the interconnectedness of all consciousness, basically the idea of a net with a jewel (representing an individual) at each intersection, and each jewel has on its surface the reflection of every single other jewel on the entire net, so they’re all reflecting each other, and even the most minor change to one will be reflected throughout the whole system, nothing existing in isolation from the totality. somehow this model resonates for me, and bearing it in mind causes me to feel less and less like i have anything to prove, that my perceptions are inherently no more valid or noteworthy than anyone else’s.”
